Deep Six'd

Sunken ships
never give up
their bones.
Yet why do
we  dive  on
the wreck of
our  dreams,
salvage a few
trinkets from the
shattered hull and
twisted planks of
the past? Just
what secrets
of any worth
do we expect
to raise? Other
than what's better
left, scuttled for good
in those briny depths.
