BIO:
I grew up exploring the fields of my family’s small dairy farm in Wisconsin, where long summer days became the perfect laboratory for a little girl with an active imagination. Those early adventures shaped the writer I am today. I trained as a teacher and spent years in both preschool and middle school classrooms, nurturing fun and curiosity in young learners. One thing I loved to do was to make stories out of weekly spelling lists which my students found very entertaining. Over time, my work expanded beyond the classroom as I trained as a health coach and meditation instructor, deepening my understanding of attention, emotional awareness, and the inner lives of children. After thirteen years as a marketing director in a medical clinic, I have found my wayto what I am meant to do: creating stories and poems that invite children to notice, imagine, and wonder. My husband Mark and I live in Fond du Lac, Wisconsin. Together we share a beautifully blended family of seven children and three grandchildren, who remind me that family is life’s greatest gift. I am currently querying literary agents for a collection of interactive picture booksthat spark imagination and invite participation.
Poetry
Wildflowers
What do wild flowers do at night?
They twist and shout and get in fights.
The moon casts a ghostly glow
Their true colors start to show.
Golden yellow yells so loud!
Baby blue cries in the crowd.
Purple picks a provocation.
Red raises an altercation.
Orange opines on the fight.
Moon switches off the ghostly light.
If you walked by the meadow you’d think
That wildflowers never raise a stink.
Forest Hush
A thousand stories are hidden in the forest
Each leaf that falls
Each branch that twists
Each paw that pads
Each morning mist
A thousand ways to feel the forest story
The damp earth moss
The fresh clean pine
The chirping songs
The twisted vine
