April Fools ‘24
And yet, despite the
hour and the timbre of the
dark, it lies softly
How suddenly precious it’s been
on the shoulders of
spring: a shawl, a counterpane,
the resurrection
to have you so near these somber thoughts.

Structure, order: threads
I cling to as the fabric
of society
I evolved in un-
becomes into desultory
piles. Max ebb is near,
glistening rocks and
tide pools reveal my care worn
skin. Yes, my social
media platforms
require more than stressed thumbs and
ralfies. I am old,
retired, but will not go
gently into the tomb of game
shows and TCM.
I seek relevance,
in an irrelevant world,
more than ever now.
